Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026
KongPaper (港卷) is operated by ThinkThinkSyn Limited (先循有限公司) in Hong Kong. These terms apply when you use kongpaper.ai, any school site under it, or the KongPaper apps. Please read them with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy.
1. Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using KongPaper, you accept these terms. If you use KongPaper for a school, you confirm that the school has authorised you to, and the school is bound by these terms too. If a school has signed a quotation or agreement with us, that document applies where it differs from these terms.
2. Accounts
- Anyone may use KongPaper. A person under 18 needs a parent's or guardian's consent to open a personal account, and that parent or guardian is responsible for the account.
- Each account is for one person. Do not share your sign-in details or let anyone else use your account.
- Keep your password safe, and tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- The details you give us must be true and up to date.
3. School accounts
A school's admins create and manage its teacher and student accounts. The school is responsible for:
- getting any consent it needs from students, parents and staff before it gives them accounts;
- deciding who can see what in the school, such as which teachers teach which classes;
- removing accounts when people leave the school.
When a school's subscription ends, its members may lose access. Section 7 of the Privacy Policy explains what happens to the school's data.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of what you create or upload, such as your answers, essays, materials and announcements. You give us a licence to store, copy, process and display that content, only as far as we need to run KongPaper for you and your school.
You promise that you have the right to upload your content, and that it does not break the law or anyone's rights. We may remove content that breaks these terms.
5. Papers and our service
KongPaper's software, design and brand belong to us or our licensors. You may use the papers, explanations and marking that KongPaper generates for you for teaching and learning, including printing them and giving them to your students. You may not sell them, publish them as a collection, or use them to build a competing product.
KongPaper is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority. Exam names are used only to describe what a paper practises.
6. Acceptable use
Do not:
- upload content that is unlawful, infringing, hateful, sexual, or harmful to children;
- harass or impersonate anyone;
- try to see data that is not yours, or get around the limits on your account or credits;
- attack, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, or run bots on it;
- upload other people's personal data unless you have the right to.
Posts on the public wishing tree can be seen by anyone, so do not put personal details in them. If you break these rules, we may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close the account.
7. AI-generated content
Papers, answers, explanations and marking on KongPaper are generated by AI. They can contain mistakes, and marks are a guide only, not an official result. Teachers should review a paper before they release it, and students should check important points with a teacher.
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss caused by relying on AI-generated content without reviewing it.
8. Plans, credits and payment
- Personal accounts are free at present. We may limit how much a free account can generate in a period.
- Schools pay by quotation and invoice, in Hong Kong dollars, by bank transfer, FPS or cheque. The quotation sets the plan, the period, the price and any credit limits.
- Some features use credits. Your plan may limit how many credits you can use in a period.
- Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred.
- We give at least 30 days' notice before a price change takes effect. A price change never applies to a period that has already been invoiced.
- Refunds follow our Refund Policy.
9. Changes to the service
We keep improving KongPaper, so features may change, and we may add or remove paper types. We try to keep the service available, but maintenance or problems outside our control may interrupt it. If we stop a feature that a school has paid for, we will agree a fair solution with that school.
10. Suspending and closing accounts
You can stop using KongPaper at any time. To close a personal account, email hello@kongpaper.ai. A school account is closed by the school's admins, or under the school's agreement with us.
We may suspend or close an account, with notice where reasonable, if it breaks these terms, if the law requires it, or if a personal account has not been used for 24 months. Sections 4 to 7 and 11 to 13 continue to apply after an account is closed.
11. Liability
KongPaper is provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows:
- we give no warranty that the service is free of errors, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose;
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost data, lost profit or exam results;
- our total liability to you for any claim is limited to HK$1,000 or the amount you paid us in the 6 months before the claim, whichever is lower.
You agree to cover our losses caused by your breach of these terms or by content you upload. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the courts of Hong Kong have exclusive jurisdiction. Before going to court, please email us so that we can try to settle the matter. Either side may also suggest mediation by the Hong Kong Mediation Centre.
13. General
- These terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy and any school agreement are the whole agreement between you and us.
- If part of these terms is found invalid, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a right at once, we have not given it up.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to a company that takes over KongPaper.
- We may update these terms. For a material change, we will post the new version on this page and tell signed-in users at least 14 days before it takes effect.
